"Following the traces of..." Cultural Traces' Blog
Hey, Ola, Hi, and welcome to Cultural Traces.
My name is Mathilde, almost 30 years old. I love walking around cities without purpose, taking pictures with my little analog camera, beaches in summer and storms on the ocean in winter, and listening to the life stories of the people I meet.
I was born in France, but I have also lived in Spain, Switzerland and Germany, and I travel whenever I can. I am currently struggling to write these few words of introduction from São Miguel do Gostoso, a small town in the North East of Brazil where I settled for a few weeks.
Like many travellers, I am naturally curious. I like to learn new things, discover new ways of life and meet different people. And when I'm not travelling, I try to fulfil this need for new experiences, this desire to teleport myself away from everyday life, with culture. Books, films and music have always allowed me to break away. For me, art is an open door to the world, and I have always loved immersing myself in the atmospheres, worlds, cultures, colours and scents described in the books, movie or songs.
I now have the opportunity to travel quite often, and because I think that thanks to culture and artists, it is possible to travel without travelling, to discover new places and new ways of life from the confort of his home, I would like to use this blog to both keep a trace of my travel, and to share my cultural discoveries with as many people as possible.
I will therefore share my favourite places, always along with some cultural tips. I will probably talk a lot about music, a few books and films that I liked, as well as some museums or cultural curiosities that I discovered on the road!
I hope that this blog will gives us the opportunity to discuss art and travel, and will inspire some of you to discover new places, in real or virtual through art!
Bienvenue sur mes traces!
Mathilde
